Esta investigaci\u00f3, publicada en la prestigiosa revista <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/doi\/10.1073\/pnas.2306454120\">Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences<\/a>, revela com HKDC1 juga un paper vital en preservar la funcionalitat de dues estructures cel\u00b7lulars essencials: les mitocondries i els lisosomes.<\/p>\n<p>Les mitocondries s\u00f3n conegudes com les &#8216;centrals energ\u00e8tiques&#8217; de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, generant l&#8217;energia necess\u00e0ria per al seu funcionament. Els lisosomes, d&#8217;altra banda, actuen com una mena de &#8216;sistema de reciclatge&#8217;, descomposant i reutilitzant components cel\u00b7lulars. El bon estat d&#8217;estes estructures \u00e9s crucial per evitar la senesc\u00e8ncia o envelliment cel\u00b7lular.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;estudi destaca que HKDC1 \u00e9s essencial per a la &#8216;mitof\u00e0gia&#8217;, un proc\u00e9s que elimina les mitocondries danyades. A m\u00e9s, esta prote\u00efna juga un paper en el contacte entre mitocondries i lisosomes, un aspecte cr\u00edtic per a la reparaci\u00f3 dels lisosomes. La import\u00e0ncia de HKDC1 es fa encara m\u00e9s evident al considerar que la seua disfunci\u00f3 o abs\u00e8ncia pot interferir amb estes processos, conduint a l&#8217;envelliment cel\u00b7lular.<\/p>\n<p>La co-localitzaci\u00f3 de HKDC1 amb altres prote\u00efnes, com TOM20 i VDAC, \u00e9s fonamental per a estes processos. TOM20 es troba en la membrana externa de les mitocondries i facilita la mitof\u00e0gia, mentre que VDAC ajuda en el contacte entre mitocondries i lisosomes.<\/p>\n<p>Esta descoberta no nom\u00e9s ajuda a entendre el complex mecanisme de l&#8217;envelliment cel\u00b7lular, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 obri noves vies per al tractament de malalties relacionades amb l&#8217;edat.
