Occurring in the middle of summer, the chances of enjoying clear skies are very high, making the country the epicenter of world astronomy.<\/p>\n<p>The path of totality will cross the country from west to east. It will be visible as a total eclipse across almost the entire northern half of the peninsula, passing through cities such as A Coru\u00f1a, Oviedo, Le\u00f3n, Bilbao, Burgos, Zaragoza, and Valencia, before ending in Palma de Mallorca. In the rest of the country, including the southern half, it will be visible as a partial eclipse.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 2560px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-11813-3\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/satdi.umh.es\/files\/2026\/07\/SOL.mp4?_=3\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/satdi.umh.es\/files\/2026\/07\/SOL.mp4\">https:\/\/satdi.umh.es\/files\/2026\/07\/SOL.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>The first place to experience totality will be Galicia (in A Coru\u00f1a, it will begin at 7:31 p.m. and reach its maximum at 8:28 p.m.). The phenomenon will then move eastward, eventually reaching the Balearic Islands. Because the eclipse will occur very late in the evening, totality will coincide with the minutes before sunset. For example, in Palma, the maximum will occur when the sun is only 2 degrees above the horizon, and in Burgos, it will set shortly before the event ends. Therefore, it is essential to find a high or unobstructed location with excellent visibility of the western horizon.<\/p>\n<p>Following the warnings of the National Geographic Institute (IGN), you should never look directly at the sun or through X-ray film, smoked glass, or ordinary sunglasses, as this can cause serious eye damage. It is essential to use certified eclipse glasses or indirect projection methods. Only during the brief seconds of totality is it safe to look without protection.
