Training stay of our colleague Enrique Rodríguez Cañas at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF)

The ongoing training of SATDI technical staff is, without a doubt, one of the main objectives that we set as a service from the beginning of each course. At the Miguel Hernández University of Elche there are multiple and varied ways to acquire new knowledge and evolve in our professional performance.

On this occasion, our dear SATDI colleague, Enrique Rodríguez Cañas, has recently completed a training stay at the European Synchroton Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, in the southeast of France. This stay has been carried out in collaboration with Victoria Fernández Fernández, Prof. from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

The purpose of this instruction has been to carry out X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy experiments on line ID21 of the Grenoble synchrotron. This activity has allowed our colleague to increase his knowledge and training in the analysis of X-ray maps, a technique that he can transfer and apply to the data obtained in the UMH electron microscope.

This practice carried out by Enrique opens access to this type of facilities to other researchers at our university, thus promoting future scientific collaborations.

Here we share several images of Enrique after his time in Grenoble:
